Project Update: I Like to Think That I'm The Girl On Fire

First of all, I would like to apologize for not posting last week.  There are a lot of family birthdays this month.

Second of all, I would like to make this post about the Instagram project that I have been working on over the summer.  I have made three style comparisons, one of them being Vesper from Casino Royale.  However, Vesper has not been posted yet because even though I made the collage, something seemed to be missing from the picture.  Therefore, Vesper has been put on hold… for now.

However, the two style comparisons that I can share are both from my favorite movie heroine, Katniss Everdeen.  Katniss' style has so far been my favorite to replicate because there is something so fierce, and yet, so fabulous about the young victor.  Without further ado, here is the first style comparison:

When I first saw Katniss wear the yellow top in the first Hunger Games movie, I realized that brunettes can pull off yellow more easily than they think.  The yellow top that I am wearing above is actually a vintage shift dress from the 60s that fits me more like a shirt than a dress.  As for the bottom, you can dress it up by adding a black mini, tights, and cool shoes like I did above, or you can dress it down by pairing it with loose black pants, as Katniss did in the movie.  Either way, it's the perfect fall look.

As soon as I saw this look in Catching Fire, I knew that I had to replicate it.  I liked what Katniss did with the layers, and I'm a sucker for architectural type of clothing, so I had a lot of fun with this look.  I just simply layered my long gray sweater over a longer black shirt/dress over black boots.  This look is also perfect for fall, and it's a great way to dress up any type of neutrals.

Well, there's my project update.  I am working on other movie characters, I just seem to be having the most fun with Katniss so far.  I will post another update on this project as soon as I can.  And hey, fall is almost here!  More importantly, fashion week is almost here… and most importantly, my birthday is in the middle of September.

I'll be 21.

No need to say anything more.
